Ammonium Tungstate Hydrochloric Acid Reaction

Ammonium tungstate is a white rhombic crystal, soluble in water, insoluble in alcohol. Hydrochloric acid also known as hydrogen chloride (HCl), english name of hydrochloric acid, a colorless liquid with a strong pungent odor, a kind of unitary inorganic acid with high causticity, has wide range of industrial applications.

Ammonium tungstate reacts with hydrochloric acid to produce ammonium chloride and tungstic acid, its equation is as following:
(NH4)2WO4+2HCl→2NH4Cl+H2WO4
General formula of tungstic acid is mWO3·nH2O, some kinds of tungstic acid are known, which are polymeric compounds of tungsten trioxide combined with each other and combined with water at different ratios and forms. Known tungstic acid are yellow tungstic acid, white tungsten acid and partial tungstic acid ect..

In addition, there are other reports about the different product, equation likes bellow: (NH4)2WO4+14HCl→(NH4)10H2W12O24+14NH4Cl+6H2O
